Toronto Holiday Events to Add to Your Calendar in 2026
A walk through the Distillery District takes on a different feel beneath strings of holiday lights. At Nathan Phillips Square, an evening skate becomes a reason to linger downtown. At the Four Seasons Centre, the opening notes of The Nutcracker signal a favourite holiday tradition. As November unfolds, Toronto’s holiday calendar offers plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the city.
From browsing Canadian-made gifts to dressing up for the ballet, here are five Toronto holiday events to add to your calendar for 2026.

1. The Distillery Winter Village
The Distillery District’s brick buildings and cobblestone laneways make a charming setting for a holiday outing. Running from November 12, 2026, to January 3, 2027, the Distillery Winter Village brings artisan vendors, seasonal food and drinks, carollers, and a towering Christmas tree to the neighbourhood, giving you plenty to explore at an unhurried pace.
Make an afternoon of browsing the shops, then stay to see the lights after dark. The tree lighting takes place November 12 at 6 p.m. Admission is free at select times, with tickets required for opening night and other designated periods. Check the admission calendar before choosing your visit.

2. The Original Santa Claus Parade
For many Toronto families, the Santa Claus Parade is the first holiday date that goes on the calendar. Returning for its 122nd year on November 22, 2026, The Original Santa Claus Parade offers a chance to bundle up, gather with neighbours, and watch the celebration pass through downtown Toronto.
The parade begins at 12:30 p.m. at Christie Street and Bloor Street West, finishing at Front and Jarvis streets. Check the official route to choose your viewing spot, allow extra travel time, and bring something warm to drink while you wait for Santa.

3. One Of A Kind Christmas Show
If you enjoy choosing gifts with a story behind them, leave time for the One Of A Kind Christmas Show, running November 27 to December 6, 2026. Canadian makers fill the Enercare Centre with handmade pieces, including home décor, art, fashion, and gourmet treats.
It’s an appealing stop for design lovers, whether you’re searching for a gift or something for your own space. Browse slowly and chat with the makers whose work catches your eye. For an after-work outing with friends, the Late Night Shopping Party runs December 3 from 5 to 11 p.m.

4. Cavalcade of Lights
City Hall provides the backdrop for one of downtown’s best-loved seasonal gatherings. Cavalcade of Lights opens November 28, 2026, at Nathan Phillips Square with performances, a tree and square lighting ceremony, light installations, and skating.
You can also save a quieter evening for a return visit. Lighting displays and select installations remain through January 7, 2027, alongside free public skating to music. Bring your skates and make the square a stop before dinner downtown.

5. The Nutcracker
A holiday performance is a lovely excuse to put an evening aside. Running December 5 to 31, 2026, at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, the National Ballet of Canada’s The Nutcracker follows siblings Marie and Misha on a Christmas Eve adventure, with James Kudelka’s choreography and Tchaikovsky’s familiar score.
The production’s elaborate sets and costumes make it a memorable outing whether you’re introducing someone to ballet or returning to a favourite tradition. Choose a matinee or evening performance, then plan a meal nearby to round out the occasion.
These seasonal outings are part of the pleasure of downtown living. BAZIS’s Queen Church community with Tridel reflects that appeal, with a central location close to Toronto’s cultural destinations and neighbourhood experiences.
