The most impressive infinity pools in the world
It’s been more than 3 months since we released our renderings for E Condos
and people still can’t get enough of our cantilevered infinity pools. And we must admit, even we don’t get tired of admiring them.
But as much as we love our infinity pools, that doesn’t stop us from admiring other impressive pools that we’ve seen. So we’ve compiled a list of infinity pools from around the world that have caught our attention. Enjoy!
InterContinental Festival City Hotel, Dubai
First up on our list, is the hanging pool at the InterContinental Festival City Hotel in Dubai. This transparent plexiglass section extends beyond the edge of the hotel building and overlooks the Dubai Skyline.
Because the pool has a curved transparent bottom, people on the street are able to look up and see swimmers overhead; so if you ever find yourself swimming in this amazing pool, make sure to choose your swimsuit carefully!
Hemeroscopium House, Madrid
This house hands down wins the award for the most insane and innovative design we’ve seen in a while. Designed by Antón García-Abril and Ensamble Studio, the house was built to look like a highway underpass and is made with girders and concrete beams to achieve the look.
The most dramatic feature, is the long, thin cantilevered lap pool suspended in mid-air. The pool was inspired by a Hemeroscopium, which defies physical limits. What’s even more impressive about this house, is that it took just seven days to build. Click this link to check out some awesome construction pics and sketches of the house.
Marina Bay, Singapore
The SkyPark is the world’s largest cantilevered platform and it has a 150-meter infinity pool which is the world’s largest outdoor pool at that height.
Devil’s pool, Victoria Falls
This man made pool sits right at the edge of Victoria Falls located between Zimbabwe and Zambia. It is is definitely not for the faint of heart! From September to December, due to low water levels, it is possible to swim and stand in the shallow water, 2 inches from where the water gushes over the edge of the falls. Check out the video below to see just how heart stopping this pool is.
Ubud Hanging Gardens, Bali
The Ubud Hanging Gardens Hotel in Bali has a multi-leveled infinity pool that looks like a natural cliffside and was designed to mimic the surrounding hills. In addition to the two main pools, each of the 38 guest rooms at the hotel has its own mini infinity pool with views of the nearby Pura Penataran Dalem Segara temple.
We’ve never been to Bali before, but it is definitely now on our bucket list.
Sky Condos, Peru
Block H, Korea
